Christmas is the time of year to indulge in long-held traditions, and there's no department store that does traditional quite as luxuriously as Fortnum & Mason. This iconic food hall has sat proudly in London's St James since 1707 and even since then, has made ‘making Christmas merrier’ its business. Part of Fortnum & Mason's almost Dickensian charm is its Christmas hampers, which have now become a staple part of celebrating the season themselves.

From small, accessibly-priced gift boxes filled with favourites like truffles and champagne, all the way to luxury wicker hampers packed to the brim with savoury flavours, Christmas pudding, alcoholic tipples, its famous teas and other goodies, the Fortnum & Mason hamper range has you covered, whether it be a gift for in-laws, best friends, a partner, or even yourself.

The iconic branded wicker baskets can be reused for years to come, finding new life as a picnic hamper, blanket box, wine hamper, or for storing wood logs next to the fire in the festive season. For something slightly different but no less decadent, Fortnum's have also designed a beautiful festive gift box. These make ideal Christmas decoration boxes - and you'll never forget what's inside.

But, which hamper to pick? For Christmas 2026, there are 33 festive hampers, including a few new editions and all of your old favourites which come back, year after year. Each one has its own theme and there's a huge variation in price, from £50 and under, up to £5,000. That’s why we are on hand to cut through the noise and help you find the best Christmas hampers for your loved ones.

The Fortnum's Classic Christmas Hamper

InformationThe Fortnum's Classic Christmas Hamper
Best for:A greatest hits selection of luxury F&M Christmas treats
Alcohol:Yes, x1 bottles
Number of items:10
Wicker basket:Large
Price:£200
Delivery:Standard UK delivery 3-5 working days, £5.95
House & Garden's verdict:

Everything you could need for the big day, the Classic Christmas is our top pick for a Fortnum and Mason hamper in 2026. It includes everything from Christmas clementine shortbread to Marc de Champagne truffles and fig preserve, as well as Fortnum's Blanc de Blancs Champagne. After having previously testing out this hamper with slightly differing contents (a tough job, but someone has to do it!) we determined that it's quintessential Christmas food at its best, and the £200 price tag is fairly reasonable with the quantity and quality of products inside the wicker basket.

Commerce writer's notes:

The Christmas fig preserve is delectably sweet (perhaps not its intended use but I have been enjoying it accompanied with a gooey brie) and the festive green tea infused with liquorice and coconut - which I wasn't sure I would enjoy - has been a very pleasant surprise. Fortnum's biscuits are in a league of their own, and the suitably festive flavour combinations on offer here (plum and stem ginger and Clementine shortbread) do not disappoint. The metal tins could be reused as storage afterwards too.

On delivery, the hamper arrives protected in a cardboard box, with handle holes that make it easier to lift and manoeuvre. The large wicker hamper basket makes an impressive entrance when unboxing, and again has handles for easy lifting. F&M wicker hampers are always so useful to keep for storage, and this one is an ideal size for belongings such as shoes, vinyl records or books. At £200, the price point may be too steep for some, but buying their hampers always works out cheaper than purchasing the products and gift basket separately, so we still think its great value for the luxurious Christmas treats within the wicker. Although I'd prefer it if delivery was free, as with other retailers.

Frequently asked questions

Is Fortnum & Mason worth it?

F&M describe on their website how purchasing one of their hampers always works out cheaper than buying the contents and basket separately. Other than that assurance, we do feel content that their hampers are worth the price, as the quality of the products is always very high, the flavours are well-considered and curated, and the wicker baskets are consistently sturdier than others we've tried. Another thing that sets Fortnum & Mason apart is the packaging of the products; many are adorned with charming illustrations and their famous teal colour, meaning that the products have a cohesive and luxurious aesthetic.

How do Fortnum & Mason hampers arrive?

You can rest assured that your F&M hamper will make its way to your door safely; their hampers are sent via courier for secure delivery. Bear in mind that this means you will be required to sign for the hamper on arrival, so make sure you arrange for it to be delivered on a day you will be at home.

What goes in a Fortnum & Mason gift hamper?

The contents of each festive hamper and gift box varies widely. The all-rounder hampers are likely to include treats such as Christmas pudding, champagne and wine, biscuits, tea, preserves and chocolates. Some of the larger hampers include indulgences like cheese, smoked salmon, and even a whole ham joint.

There are also alcohol-free hampers, vegan options, and wine and champagne only gift boxes, if you're looking for a slightly more focused hamper.
